🌺 Bonus extra

Rob edged the car down the long sweeping drive – Morag was on his mind as he focused on the road ahead, today would most likely end in another fight and another bout of tears and guilt. Something he could do without this week. He had a mountain of paperwork to do and a problem with the contracts over the new French inclusion of the business , his head a mass of worries and things he needed to sort out, and he was only half focused as the main road came into a view cutting across the entrance..

He came to the hedged exit and cursed that he still hadn’t gotten round to having this cleared back; the recent rain had caused a growth spurt of the bushes and trees and his view to the main road was concealed. He edged the nose of his smooth black Porsche out of the gravel road in a bid to get a view of oncoming traffic, a stupid move, he knew, but one made out of necessity – he had to get out of here and to the museum.

Morag was on another rampage, this time over some visiting artist and his American nephew; something mundane and pointless she should be able to handle herself. Edging out further, he was suddenly aware of a baby pink mini to his right, on his side of the road literally feet away. His heart constricted and he cursed inwardly, slamming his brakes on as the other car swerved across the road in a dramatic fashion, screeching to a dead stop, amid a flurry of gravel and smoke, and he almost felt his heart stop.

‘Shit!’ Rob stopped for a second and realised the female in the drivers seat was leaning forward, her face against the wheel, looking motionless; without hesitation he jumped out and ran the distance to her car, heart racing and fear gripping his throat that she may actually be hurt.

A few fast strides and he was yanking open the door, his brain revving into Hero mode instinctively.

‘Are you o……’ He barely got the question out when the small brunette spun round at him accusingly, eyes wild with rage and face fierce, knocking the air out of him, her face ablaze with unconcealed anger.

‘What in the actual hell are you doing???’ She screeched, Rob was halted instantly by the perfect tinted pink lips and fiery brown eyes, settled in the delicate face. She was beyond stunning. He didn’t react immediately, the wind taken from his sails by the face of a siren that rendered him momentarily motionless.

‘You could have killed me!!! Are you aware that road is a 60!!! You pulled out into traffic on a god damn 60!’ She was angry, really angry, yet it only made her even more alluring as she pulled herself out of her seat, releasing her belt  and bringing a small perfect body out of the car , amid a puff of strawberry cupcakes. She was dressed in the most feminine pink dress he had ever seen, all curves and softness, and felt his body respond instantly in all kinds of sexy ways.

Who was this girl?

‘Whoa there Penelope!’ he splayed his hands defensively, trying to reel his mind away from what he would like to do with this fiery little beauty, and brought himself back to focus. The images of a cartoon character , an old favourite, crossing his mind in a bid to keep his mind off her naked across the car bonnet right about now.  She was giving him horny images that he had little control over. He had always loved fiery women it seemed, if he thought about Morag’s fierce side.

‘Look I’m sorry! I’m sure I got as much of a shock as you! Most folks know how bad the view is for me coming out and cross to the other side to pass the Manor opening!’ he knew he was making excuses, but it was true. The foliage grew fast and wild at this time of the year, with all the excessive rain, and he just hadn’t reminded the gardeners to come down here and cut back the hedgerow.

She opened her kissable full lips and a stream of angry abuse flooded out; Rob bristled. Attractive as she was, he was in no mood for another crazy abusive woman – he already had one of those in his life. Morag was another beauty, full of venom, and it only brought the irritation he already felt to the forefront. He yelled back, feeling the annoyance rising within him instantly – this girl seemed able to evoke an anger unlike any other.

The girl stopped suddenly, a flicker of realisation running across her face, unphased by his anger, and then she turned those almond shaped eyes on him accusingly once more. Rob knew he could get lost in those eyes if he let himself, and despite his own fury he could feel those stirring urges inside of him again – he pushed them down in irritation. She really was a huge turn on for him, he had never had such a lack of control over any woman like this before and even though she was battling him like some deranged crazy, he just wanted to strip her naked and kiss her senseless.

‘Who the hell is Penelope?’ she snapped and Rob instantly laughed, then tried to cover with a cough. He couldn’t let this enraged woman take his guard down, although the confusion on her face was close to cuteness in a way. He had never liked cute girls, but this one had a cute, stroke, sexy vibe, going on that he had never encountered. It was a heady combination and she smelled edible to match it; he wanted to pull her over and devour her already.

‘’You!…. Sorry! it’s just….. pink car…. Pink dress….. Fiery little lady who comes out like a bat out of hell, like she’s about to rip my head off….’ He tried to explain, not even sure why he was as she stared blankly at him, as though he had gone mad. Maybe he had….

When was the last time he had ever reacted like this to a girl? In his adolescence maybe?

‘Penelope Pit-stop, from wacky races?… Look, never mind. It’s just, that’s what I thought when I opened your door.’ he laughed again, this time to cover how stupid he actually felt saying this out loud. If he was trying to impress her, then he had failed the second he almost killed her.

‘Screw you! Next time watch where you’re going, Ass hole! Or next time I won’t swerve!’ she turned and threw herself back into her car, attempting to grab her door, but Rob feeling the anger bristle back up caught it mid swing. If she wanted to act like a bitch then he was good at being an ass hole.

‘Allow me.’ he slammed it shut. Gritted teeth, trying to simmer down the rage. She was frustrating, despite being sexy as hell; her eyes met his and a storm passed between them in that loaded second. Anger meeting anger, a fiery look drenched in meaning. He guessed being friends was unlikely, never mind getting her into his bed for a passionate affair. Shame really, as she seemed like passion would come easily to her.

She sped off, almost taking him out with her wing mirror, he watched her shaking his head in both anger at her, and at himself – he was an idiot. She was probably the most beautiful girl he had ever laid eyes on in his life, and here she was in his town , right in front of his own drive, and he had not only almost killed her, but then insulted her and made her hate him all in one fell swoop. He watched her drive away, the air still smelling of her perfume around him, and it calmed his anger soothingly.

Maybe he would meet her again; hopefully she wasn’t just passing through, and maybe next time he could act less like an ass hole in her presence, and maybe try and ask her for a coffee instead.

He jumped back into his car, his nerves all over the place and took a deep breath , he started the engine, trying to focus on the task at hand, easily getting back onto the main road and catching up to the small pink car ahead. A typical ‘chick’ mobile.

What was it with women and pink cars?

His sister had been hinting at one for months, he would never understand the pink craze. He frowned as the car ahead pulled off at speed, she was obviously still pissed, but he was a little impressed too, that she seemed like a woman who could actually drive. That was a rare thing nowadays. The urge to catch up rose up inside, but he let it slide – chasing her was out of the question.

What the hell was wrong with him today?

He watched her slow down and crawl into town , at least she had the sense to drive normally in the residential area; he would give her that at least. The museum exit loomed to his right and he reluctantly turned in, taking one more look at the rear of the pink car and it’s unforgettable driver. Feeling deflated, crazily.

He would meet her again, he would make sure of it, and next time…. he wouldn’t act like such a god damn idiot around her.
